 May 2024

The Porsche Club season is in full swing. The calendar is as full as it has ever been and we are working diligently to give our members lots of choices for their weekends. We know that many of you have soccer games, baseball, and church activities on your weekends. But if you have free time we hope you're checking our calendar to see what we're up to. April 2024

Our Spring Concours Parade of Excellence was a smashing success and much thanks to Mark Wilson, Kurt Neimeyer, and the Concours Team for their diligent work every year. I am amazed at the number and array of cars that participate every year. Where else are you going to see two Orange Long Hood 911s and a 911 Dakar on the same day? New Member event at Eclipse

Big thanks to Rick Puthoff for opening the doors to Eclipse

( https://321tint.com) for our 2024 New Member event. An overwhelming success. The day started out rather gloomy with an ongoing threat of rain. But May in Cincinnati can be 82 degrees as easily as it can be 45 degrees. Chef Mitch Ahrens prepared incredible southern cuisine (his specialty), the finest pork belly I have ever had, blackened chicken, and the pièce de résistance: the best bread pudding ever created by the hands of man. I want to thank Gerardo (G) Nucete and Chuck and Kathy Lindsey for getting the event set up and delivering food and drinks.

April was the culmination of a major event for my family. My wife and I met 20+ years ago as a result of being distance runners, which culminated in getting married at the Boston Marathon in 2004. My running career ended with knee surgery, my wifes however has grown into something incredible. For years we have talked about a very special staged race that's run across the Sahara Desert in North Africa. In 2023 she was invited to race the Marathon De Sables in Morocco for 2024. We got her on a plane on April 9 and said goodbye as she left for Kennedy airport to Paris then to Marrakech Morocco. She completed the race after 6 days in the top of all women competitors, top of her age group and top of the overall competitors. Very proud indeed.
